Community Guidelines
Version 1.0 - Last updated August 19, 2026
1. Respect the people at the table
DM Noctem is built around collaborative tabletop gaming. Treat Players, GMs and staff with respect. Disagreement about rules, games, characters or play style is not permission to attack the person.
2. No harassment, hate or intimidation
Harassment, targeted abuse, stalking, credible threats, hateful conduct, discriminatory slurs directed at people, or sustained behavior intended to drive someone out of the community are not allowed.
3. Protect privacy
Do not publish another member's private information, real-world identity, private messages, contact details or sensitive personal information without permission. Do not use DM Noctem access to build lists for harassment, solicitation or off-platform targeting.
4. Keep accounts and permissions honest
Do not impersonate another person, evade a suspension, exploit a permissions bug, enter a Campaign or staff area you know you are not authorized to use, or interfere with audit/security systems.
5. Campaign and table boundaries matter
GMs may establish Campaign-specific expectations, safety tools, tone and participation rules that are consistent with these Guidelines. Players should communicate when a boundary or table issue needs attention. GMs should use their Campaign authority to run the game, not to retaliate against Players for raising legitimate concerns.
6. User content
Do not upload illegal content, malware, stolen private material, or content you do not have the right to share. Mature fictional themes may exist in tabletop games, but content may still be moderated when it is used to harass people, violates law, or creates a serious safety/community problem.
7. Spam and misuse
No credential phishing, malicious links, automated spam, repeated unsolicited promotion, scraping of private/member-only data, or misuse of Discord/community notification features.
8. Staff and GM responsibilities
Staff and GMs should use only the access needed for their role, avoid exposing private Player information, document meaningful operational actions through normal DM Noctem workflows, and escalate conflicts they should not resolve alone.
9. Reporting and enforcement
Use available staff/reporting channels for problems. Depending on severity and history, DM Noctem may use reminders, content removal, warnings, feature restrictions, Campaign removal, temporary suspension or account termination. Serious safety/security issues may result in immediate action.
10. Good-faith participation
Not every awkward conversation, rules dispute, failed joke or bad session is a policy violation. Staff should consider context, severity, pattern and impact rather than treating moderation as a point-scoring system.
